Rhino

  • The Rhino is the second largest land mammal in the world.  .
  • The Rhino is one of the few animals that date from prehistoric times. They owe this to the fact that they are highly adaptable.
  • Because a Rhino needs to drink regularly they tend to stay in close proximity to bodies of water.  They can only survive without water for about five days.  Rhinos consume large amounts of water to keep them hydrated and to cool their bodies.
  • Rhinos love wallowing in the mud, the mud coating protects them from sunburn and irritating parasites. It also cools them down.
